Several beautiful, light-filled rooms are available for your special event.
The exterior of the lodge with its signature wrap-around verandah provides a stunning backdrop for an outdoor wedding. It overlooks the heritage gardens, and, laid out with cocktail tables, is often used for outdoor gatherings in the summer months.
Inside the house, as you might expect, is a large and impressive entrance hall with a magnificent staircase. Graced with an antique table for gifts or for a guest book, this is the perfect place to greet guests and to mingle with them.
The Drake Room
On the right as you enter through the front door is the original formal drawing room of the manor house. Its bay window, loved by photographers, brings in lots of natural light. The tiled fireplace surround with its striking black marble mantel gives a hint of the Victorian furnishings which once filled the room. The Drake Room, complete with dimmer switches to enable more romantic lighting, makes a beautiful setting for a party.
The Hodder Room
On the left of the hall was the formal parlour or den for Mr. Peters. It also has a glorious bay window and a large fireplace. It leads through a pair of impressive doors to the Dining Room, a room adorned with a fabulous crenelated fireplace. These rooms can easily be divided by closing the doors, but for a party they make a large and airy room for entertaining.
Both rooms were recently furnished with beautiful formal drapes which echo the grandeur of days gone by.
Brides’ Dressing Room
We have an upstairs room available for brides to use as a personal space. Furnished with a dressing table and full length mirror and with comfortable chairs for bridesmaids, it is perfect for last minute adjustments to coiffure and make-up. This quiet retreat at the top of the stairs is a wonderful place from which to make a grand entrance descending the grand staircase.
This room is often used as a serving area for a buffet or beverages.
Grosvenor Lodge is fully accessible and there are washrooms situated on the ground floor in the rear vestibule.
